Looking for fun educational activities to do with your kids near Seminole County? The Orlando Science Center is a fantastic option for families! With multiple hands-on exhibits, kids of all ages can explore science in an engaging

way.

Located just 10 miles northeast of downtown Orlando, the Science Center is easy to access right off I-4. General admission tickets are $24 for adults and $18 for children ages 2-11, while kids under 2 are free. If you love a good discount: military and first responders get a couple bucks off, all teachers get in free, and for families receiving services like EBT or WIC - you can plan to get in for $3 a person. Family fun for all! Plan to spend 2-3 hours exploring the various galleries and attractions.

One of the most popular sections is KidsTown, perfect for little explorers ages 5 and under. Here they can really let their imaginative play run wild in the interactive orange juice process! Learn how orange juice is made from orchard, to manufacturing, to purchasing at your local grocery store.

Our son loves the dinosaur exhibit! A pretty impressive gallery with multiple skeleton models, like the Triceratops and the mighty T-Rex! But, more than that, if you ALSO have a mini Paleontologist, they have this cool VR section on the floor where the kids can run and play with ACTUAL DINOSAURS!!! And then, you can send them into the DInoDig area to unearth some ancient fossils.

Head to the Hands-on physics exhibits demonstrate concepts like energy, electricity, light and motion. Using interactive exhibits like The Balance Challenge, where you have to build a weighted balance using buckets to slide down an 18 foot zip line. The coolest part about this exhibit is watching the kids fail into success — and the inevitable smile on their face after they complete the task at hand! But, if you are more the rock and roll type — OSC features an amazing and interactive “Earth” section where you can learn about the Earth and Solar System, as well as learn about earthquakes and tectonic shifts. But, if you’d rather, you can roll the reel and create your own news weather forecast - complete with green screen and teleprompter! Don’t forget to step into the hurricane chamber. . .

With multiple floors and activities, parents may choose to guide their children through exhibits or allow them to wander independently, depending on their age and maturity level. Some exhibits like the paper airplane testing facility may immediately grab their attention, while others like the balancing challenge may require more parental encouragement. There is a lot to do at the Science Center, but it’s really going to be the parent’s job to ensure you get your money’s worth is what I found. Just be engaged, keep your kid focused on the “play” part of learning, and you’ll have. a great time!

With reasonable prices, nearby location and interactive educational exhibits, the Orlando Science Center makes for an engaging outing. Kids can let their creativity and curiosity run wild while learning about science and nature.
